The sixth of a series of pieces in a literary exposé trying to break the silence of a work of art exhibited by the Legon PRESEC Visual Arts Class in Ghana during the 2018 LIPFEST exhibition.
There is a lesson to learn about the hard work that crowns your success. It has in it pain, sweat, patience and perseverance but it has never broken any bone and it always pays having in it a sense of dignity when done honestly. Every year the Deer hunting festival (Aboakyer) of the people of Winneba in Ghana comes off to prove this narrative. There cannot be a celebration without “the catch”.

Into the wild will go in chants and songs
From the wild their deer crown at the neck
Life is a celebration for the brave and not the timid
