Cry no more. The past is gone. What you can do now is to learn the lessons making sure it doesn’t occur again. Concentrate on the present and how you can turn things around to favour you. Nothing is beyond you. Everything is within reach. There is still time to make a great difference.
Poem in full
Oh, that I may forget the toils of the past
Oh, that I may be baptized,
Baptized with the baptism of forgetfulness
Oh, that I may forget,
Forget my father’s house – Manasseh
Oh, that the pain, even of the past,
May remain there – the past!
Oh, that the present challenges
May not follow me, into the future,
A millisecond away.
Oh, that I may be equipped,
Equipped and well amoured,
Even for the future,
The future known,
The future unknown.
Let forgetfulness, of things piercing,
Piercing and nailing, bathe me continually.
Let me not lose my fragrance,
Even the sweet fragrance of life!
Let all three compartments,
Even of the body, soul and spirit,
Receive said baptism.
Again and again, I run.
When to stop?
When alas I rest,
In the bosom of the One Faithful,
My Yahweh
