They have come but not to stay
The crows and the vultures like dark clouds hanging over our land
and yet no cry of death or corpse to take away
Blaring here and there
The raging coronavirus seeking whom to devour

The world kneels at its feet
All into their holes gone
Doctors and economists foretelling doom on nations and their economy
Restricted liberty in the face of adversity
for a while will attain total freedom the long run

Where will be our peace
if will not we war
war our fears and threats?

Where will be our peace
if relationships, traditions and cultures
not preserving life are put not aside?

Where will be our peace
if schools, markets, churches, transport shut down
and continue we to pollute the land, waters and destroy life within them?

Where will be our peace
if we look unconcern on hunger, poverty, unaffordable healthcare
and discontinue developments done by previous governments?

Where will be our peace
if forest reserves are destroyed for mining and from our homes and industry
our atmosphere and climate crawl at their mercy: burning charcoal, fuel and coal?

Where will be our peace
if the favorites are our men
when they can also do it, our women?

Where will be our peace
if mistrust destroys partnership
and infrastructure at places not needed?

The crows and the vultures will stay not long
We’ve been pressed yet fainted not
We’ve heard the worst yet full of coolness
We’re at table with the dreadful virus and still blooming
We’ll come out safer, stronger and better
A model of hope to many near and beyond
