Crowd thick like cloud before a storm
Surrounds the sound of a blurring ambulance
What will tomorrow bring forth
Sitting within the bearer of doom
closer to an untimely fate.
Left over ashes my footprints
why fear the raging pointing fingers
those lips which went up and down without any speech
and the hand which held the chin
when it was not a death sentence or an arrest?
Today the ambulance services left me at home
There was no gathering of eyes
but short glances even in the dark
I am at home mine received me with joy
The corona failed to drown me in the deep
Friends have turned passersby
whispering to themselves while they point at my home
Denial of purchases even though they are in stock
and in the barbering saloon where I cut my hair
It could infect anyone, the small the big
the rich the poor, the educated and uneducated
the great the man on the street
My status was positive I know,
I now test negative, what about you?
Fear not, rather protect yourself and household
Spread the Covid advice and nothing foul
Feel free, those who have now tested negative
Feel free to live your life, be happy to be alive
